Previous Employment

Software Developer at Symology: July 2021 – Present

As a software developer for Symology I have mainly used C#, .NET and SQL. I was able to thoroughly extend my knowledge in these languages as well as using Git, Visual Studio and Azure DevOps for version control. Being a part of a company and working on a big project was extremely insightful as to how a company of this size operates, as well as expanding my ability to work on multiple massive projects which interact in many different ways.

Barista at Costa Coffee: June 2019 – January 2021

Trained and working as a ‘Skilled Barista’. My responsibilities entailed having to serve customers at the till, be responsible for making both hot and cold drinks for customers. I would also work in the kitchen and on the floor, clearing and cleaning tables and putting them through the dishwasher. My time at Costa Coffee has massively improved my ability to interact with customers and has also made me much better at working in a team.

Night Guest Assistant at Holiday Inn Express: July 2018 – May 2019

Working at the reception and bar cover. I would have to help any guests with queries or problems and check guests in and out, as well as serving in the bar and kitchen. I found that this customer facing role has made me confident in dealing with customers, assisting with their needs and support my colleagues.

Tennis Coach at Greenwood Park Tennis Club: January 2013 – May 2019

Responsible for coaching children of ages 4-15 in groups of approx. 8, taking lead from the head coach and thereafter teaching tennis students various techniques for tennis practise and matches. Very rewarding seeing my students develop over many years and has given me confidence in dealing with children of sometimes difficult ages and a sense of pride to see them respect me as their tennis coach.

Rider at Deliveroo: October 2016 - February 2017

Delivering of take away food from restaurants and take-away establishments to customers in a 2-mile radius of St Albans City centre. Regularly interacting with both vendors and customer and working efficiently under pressure to keep to tight deadlines. During my time here I worked hard to balance my A-Levels, extracurricular activities, and this job.

Intern at Computacenter: 18th July 2016 – 7th August 2016

Have spent a three-week period of temporary cover in an administrative role, organising replacements to be sent to clients for DOA parts, chasing un-returned parts and providing status reports. Worked in a small team, where communication between team members was paramount. I felt very valued in my short time.

Volunteer at Oxfam: October 2013 - April 2014

Was responsible for various support roles in my time at Oxfam, shelf stacking for new stock and rearranging older stock. This job is also responsible for the beginning of my development of customer and client interaction. Found the role rewarding and great to work with a team of volunteers.
